Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to Cambridge Female Founders Network CIC (“Cambridge Female Founders Network”, “CFFN”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and our website at https://cambridgefemalefounders.com including pages hosted on third-party platforms used for our events or community engagement such as Luma, WhatsApp Groups, and LinkedIn (collectively the “Site”).

Cambridge Female Founders Network CIC is a company limited by guarantee registered as a Community Interest Company in England and Wales with company number 16467857. Our registered office is at: Office 259, 23 King Street, Cambridge, CB1 1AH.

By using this Site, subscribing to our communications, participating in our events, or joining our community, you signify your agreement to these Terms.

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site indicates acceptance of any updated Terms.

General

The Services are available to individuals aged 18 and above, globally. Some events or opportunities may contain geographic or eligibility restrictions which will be stated clearly where applicable.

 

We may change or update the Site or its content from time to time.

1. Your Use of the Site

1.1 Our Services are currently offered free of charge to individuals. If fees are introduced for any services at a later point, we will update these Terms.

1.2 You promise that all information you provide is true and accurate.

1.3 You agree that you will not:

  • impersonate any other person

  • engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour

  • violate our Code of Conduct (https://www.cambridgefemalefounders.com/code-of-conduct)

  • use our Site for unlawful purposes

  • attempt to disrupt the Site or community platforms

  • share harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, or aggressive content

  • distribute illegal, harmful, or malicious files, software, or links

  • collect or ‘scrape’ data from our Site or community spaces

1.4 We may suspend, restrict or terminate your participation or access (including removal from events or groups) if we believe that you have breached these Terms, our Code of Conduct, applicable laws, or our community policies.

2. Rights Granted

2.1 Unless otherwise indicated, all Site content including text, images, graphics, frameworks, documents, logos, event materials, and Member Directory information are protected by intellectual property rights and are owned by us or our licensors (the “Materials”).

2.2 We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial use only.

​

2.3 You may not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, publish, or commercially exploit Materials

  • remove or alter copyright or proprietary notices

  • reuse, share, or distribute event materials without permission

2.4 If we find you have made unauthorised use of our Materials, we may suspend or terminate your access without notice.

3. Member Directory and Community

3.1 The CFFN Member Directory is available only to registered members and may not be copied, downloaded, distributed, or used for solicitation, marketing, recruiting, or sales activities.

3.2 Bulk extraction or scraping of Member information is strictly prohibited.

​

3.3 We reserve the right to remove anyone who uses the Directory or community systems in ways inconsistent with these Terms.

4. Events

4.1 Participation in events (virtual or physical) is subject to our Code of Conduct.

4.2 We do not record events and do not grant permission for participants to record, capture screenshots, or distribute commentary, chat logs, or event materials unless explicitly permitted.

​

4.3 Participants are responsible for their own travel and event participation costs, risks, and safety. CFFN accepts no responsibility for accidents, travel issues, or incidents arising before, during, or after events.

​

4.4 Event materials may only be used for personal learning purposes and may not be shared publicly.

5. Donations

5.1 Donations are voluntary gifts and do not entitle donors to ownership, financial benefit, governance rights, or membership in the CIC.

5.2 As a CIC, we are not permitted to distribute financial returns or profits to donors, participants, or members.

​

5.3 Donors may be acknowledged publicly (for example, on our website or in donor communications). Donors may request anonymity.

​

5.4 If CFFN offers named donor tiers, such naming is honorary only and confers no legal, financial, or governance rights.

​

5.5 Donations are processed via third-party payment provider Stripe. Their separate terms apply.

​

5.6 Donations are generally non-refundable unless legally required under consumer law or where incorrectly processed.

6. Sponsorship

Sponsorship arrangements are governed by separate written agreements, not these Terms.

7. No Legal or Financial Advice

Information provided through CFFN communications, resources, or events is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, investment, or professional advice. You should seek independent professional advice before acting.

8. Harassment and Discrimination

We operate a no-tolerance approach to harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, or abusive behaviour. We may suspend or permanently remove individuals who violate our standards without refund or notice.

9. Termination

We may:

  • suspend or terminate accounts

  • remove event participants

  • remove individuals from WhatsApp, Luma, or LinkedIn groups

  • block access to Site or resources

…for breach of these Terms, Code of Conduct, or relevant policies.

 

This contract gives no ownership, financial rights, or voting rights to any user, donor, participant, or member.

10. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all other liability including indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

 

We are not responsible for linked third-party sites or platforms.

11. Privacy

We collect personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at:

12. Other Important Terms

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force. These Terms set out the entire agreement between you and us regarding use of the Site.

 

This contract is governed by English law and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
