Our debut gathering, 'Enduring Innovation: Women Founders Leading the Way,' hosted at the Cambridge Judge Business School showcased the resilience and strategic acumen of women entrepreneurs across the Cambridge-London ecosystem.
Welcome Remarks: Emmi Nicholl - Managing Director, Cambridge Angels
The event kicked off with a powerful keynote by Emmi Nicholl from Cambridge Angels, who emphasised the alignment of excellence with female founders: "When we look for excellence, we find female founders." Emmi highlighted the group's efforts to increase their investment in female-led companies from the current 13%, aiming to expand their base to new dynamic female founders in the ecosystem.
Panel 1: Resourcing and Fundraising through a Market Crash
Guided by Andrew Hatcher, panelists Sophie Richter, Lakechia Jeanne, Mobeen Kosar, and Xann Schwinn delved into the dynamics of resource management during economic downturns. They discussed how resilience, informed decision-making, and emotional intelligence are crucial in navigating these challenging times, emphasising the importance of mentorship and community support.
Panel 2: Foundations - New Insights into Building and Scaling
Led by Dr. Eugenie Regan, this panel featured Chantal Epp, Lluna Gallego, and Lucy Jung, who shared insights on the transition from initial business development to significant scaling. Discussions focused on strategic hiring, timing for expansion, and valuable lessons learned during critical growth phases, highlighting the role of detailed planning and strategic partnerships.
